Recurring Weekly Programs

We warmly welcome visitors of all experience levels to our weekly mindfulness and discussion series.

GBV Weekly Dhamma Programs: Mindfulness Practice & Dhamma Discussions

  • When: Every Thursday from 7: PM – 8:30 PM EDT

  • Language: Conducted in English Language

  • Led By: Bhante Deepankara

Detailed Evening Schedule:

  1. Guided meditation: (45 minutes) – Focusing on Mindfulness and Loving Kindness.

  2. Dhamma discussion: (1 hour)

  3. Q & A session: (15 minutes)


Emory Buddhist Club (EBC)

  • When: Weekly (please confirm day via club contact), meets at 6:00 PM

  • Description: Student-run group meeting for practice and discussion.

  • Vassana Seson: From July to Nov, Daily 28 Buddha Puja and Dhamma Sesson at 7:00pm

  • Jan 1 (Thu): New Year's Day Blessings

  • Apr 11 (Sat): Sri Lankan New Year Celebration

  • May 9 (Sat): WESAK Day – Commemorating the Birth, Enlightenment, and Parinirvana of the Buddha. A combined celebration including Poya observation and Dhamma School participation.

  • May 23 – May 26 (Sat-Tue): GBV Annual Youth Retreat 

  • Jul 29 (Wed): Vas Āradhana (Inviting Monks for Rains Retreat).

  • Aug 22 (Sat): Special Dhamma School Sil Program (in conjunction with the Poya date).

  • Oct 10 (Sat): Food Festival. 

  • Nov 7 (Sat): GBV Katina Ceremony – The Robe Offering Ceremony concluding the Rains Retreat.
